Have you ever been to Yellowstone National Park? It is a place filled with natural wonders. One of the most famous attractions is the Old Faithful geyser. It is the only geyser that is predictable with any accuracy. Rangers at the park are able to determine, within a 30 minute window, when it will erupt. Crowds of curious onlookers wait anxiously to see it spout thousands of gallons of water hundreds of feet into the air.

The “faithfulness” of this amazing geologic marvel inspires thousands of people every year. No matter what the season, it is consistent. No matter the size of the crowd, it displays nature’s glory.

God, in His goodness, has placed pictures all over nature in order to teach us life lessons. The Old Faithful geyser shouts from within the earth telling us to be constant, faithful, and on fire for God. Whatever happens, whether there is an audience, or we are completely alone, we must follow the way of God. Just as the geyser follows the natural laws that caused its existence, God’s children display his beauty and glory when they follow the ways of the kingdom. Are the onlookers to your life seeing God’s glory displayed regularly, or is your life unpredictable? Are you “constant, in season and out of season?” (2Timothy 4:2)
