Few weeks ago we had a lively conversation in our youth group. It all started when we started discussing some historical figures of our Christian faith. The following week it dawned to me that we should explore “the back story of our faith” some more. Therefore, we are now a few weeks ago from having a winter retreat talking about the history of Christianity.
It is always good to know how we arrived to believe what we believe. We should not be afraid to share with our students the struggles the church had over the centuries. Our FAITH has a back story just like we all do. I am looking forward to this cool experience.
We have been blessed to have a youth leader who loves history and was willing to do the necessary reading and research. We will talk about the major turning points in the history of Christianity.
For those interested and willing to do some work, this could be a very cool theme for a DNOW, as well.
