On of my favorite things to do during fall is to go to the mountains (Colorado Rockies) when aspen and other trees put on colorful garb. It is an enchanting experience to walk on a trail where you are completely surrounded by colorful leaves – some on the ground, some still on the trees and others allowing the wind to carry them as they dance in the air.

As a master of the autumn dance, the wind called out to the leaf making promises. “If you leave the tree and join me, I will dance with you. Then I will lift you up to heights unknown to you and show you things you only dreamed about. If you join me,” the wind said to the leaf, “you will be free.”

Ecstatic over the fact that the wind chose it from among all other leaves, it let go of the tree and abandoned itself in the arms of the master dancer, the wind. What a thrill it was to dance with the wind. The views, the heights, the attention, and the smooth moves of the wind were breathtaking.

For a moment, the leaf felt it was finally living life to its fullest. The leaf was sure the wind would keep its promises and that they would live happily ever after. But the wind got tired of the leaf and soon abandoned it to the ground. Tired of the same leaf and the same dance, the wind was in pursuit of another leaf.

Over and over again, the wind would make the same promises and offer the same dance to all the leaves. One by one, each leaf would believe, let go of the tree, and the safety they had known, and joined the wind. Each time the wind would let them down… one by one.

“For I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ for a different gospel (good news) which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ”. Gal. 1:6-7

Satan will use various methods to distort the good news of Jesus by lying and interfering with the normal way of life believers have in Christ.
