September is often the season of planning overload. New school schedules, church launches, budget planning, and family routines create a storm of anxiety. Our calendars fill up, our to-do lists spill over, and our hearts grow restless.
But Jesus reminds us that peace doesn’t come from better scheduling—it comes from deeper surrender.
This fall, join us for our new sermon series:
Jesus and Our Modern Anxieties
(Fall Edition — The Planning Season)
Each week, we’ll look at a moment in Scripture where Jesus meets human anxiety—about direction, money, timing, or chaos—and shows us how to live with trust instead of fear.
Week 1: The Call That Shifts Everything — Anxiety About Direction
- Text: Matthew 4:18–22
- Big Idea: Jesus interrupts our plans with a better calling.
- Application: Ask yourself—where might Jesus be calling me away from my plan to follow His?
Week 2: When You Fear the Future — Anxiety About Provision
- Text: Matthew 6:25–34
- Big Idea: Tomorrow is not in your control, but it is in Jesus’ hands.
- Application: Release one financial or life worry to God in prayer.
Week 3: The Delay That Saved a Life — Anxiety About Timing
- Text: John 11:1–44
- Big Idea: God’s delays are not denials—they are opportunities for His glory.
- Application: Journal: What feels “delayed” in my life right now, and how might it serve God’s purposes?
Week 4: When You Can’t Control Anything — Anxiety About Chaos
- Text: Mark 4:35–41
- Big Idea: Jesus is Lord of the storm, even when life feels unmanageable.
- Application: Practice a breath prayer: Inhale — Jesus, You are here. Exhale — I trust You.
